This accession consists of a notebook used by John William Armistead to record scientific lectures while at Washington College, 1838. His daughter Yatelia E. Armistead of Lynchburg, Virginia, used the back portion as a letterbook (1868) and Diary (1870). There are several pages of vital statistics (1778-1863) for the Armistead and while families as well as slave births 1855-1864, livestock births, and accounts.
